Kitchen Rug

I am sorry I'm bombarding you with kitchen photos lately, probably because it's the only room in the house that has good light these days,

It's beautiful outside but very grey and we have a ton of snow, here is what it looks like right now

So, back to the kitchen, I found this rug on sale last week and snatched it up, I wasn't crazy about the black lace border so using a pair of seam rippers I removed it and voila! so much better! it would have probably worked in a bedroom but not in the kitchen.

I probably should have tidied up more before I took these photos, but you know what? life happens right? can't keep it tidy all the time...especially with 3 constantly hungry big boys practically living in the kitchen all the time...:)

What a great idea ... using a seam ripper to take the lace off! I have often admired the rugs from Urban. They have some great colors and designs. And the prices aren't bad either :)
