Last Wednesday my blog was featured on TypePad, It was so exciting, I got wonderful and encouraging emails and comments from so many people, Thank you All! and thank you TypePad! now if I could only figure out how to add their little TypePad feature blog logo thingy...
We finished a little part of our mini renovation in the kitchen. the cabinets were literally falling off the wall which is fine because our kitchen is SO ugly, yeach!!!!! We bought the house with this "European" style kitchen when we moved here two years ago and hated it ever since (obviously the person who called it "European style" has NEVER been to Europe....) anyway we were shocked when we heard what a new kitchen will cost...not to mention the installation...so since we can't be offended by this kitchen anymore, and my sweet husband can build and fix anything ,we decided to purchase an Ikea Adel white kitchen with butcher tops and install it ourselves....wish us luck (any tips welcome!)
We are driving out to order it next week, but ,we did remove one ugly unit and replaced it with a restaurant kitchen unit, I love it, the kitchen looks so much bigger!!!
Kitchen before with dated ugly unit
husband on ladder removing ugly unit
voila! our new open shelf unit
I like kitchens that are open bright and airy, shelves instead of high cabinets, and mismatched stuff, here is an example of a kitchen I love:
well, maybe some day....
have a great weekend!
xoxo
Love the kitchen -- we put similar open shelving in our kitchen and love it! doors are overrated!

That is such a good idea. We have ugly tall cabinets that have to go. I love your shelves.
I just posted about our kitchen - you can see your lovely dreamcatcher in its new home :)
