Yesterday we attended the beautiful wedding of Nick and Christine, this is the first wedding of one of our friends kids! The lovely event took place at their beautiful backyard in Burlington, it was a perfect day, the gorgeous raspberry cake was baked by our friend Geoff (the dad) who is an amzing cook, the food was a good old fashioned barbecue complete with smoked ribs, corn bread and wonderful sweet local corn, the lovely favors were little bags of yummy homemade cookies, there was a photo booth and dancing and just plain all around laid back fun.
Here is a little wedding collage I made from some phone photos I took yesterday:
And for those who follow my blog, I am happy to say that our son Jonathan has safely arrived at the base camp at the foot of the Himalayas after a 20 hr flight to New Delhi and a 12 hr bus ride up north.
Hello my lovelies. I am so excited to launch the new 2012-13 collection, I've been working on it all summer, here is the newsletter that was sent this morning that includes a 10% special promotion discount to be used in the shop until Sept.3, to subscribe to my newsletter please see the link here
Today we said goodbye to our son Jonathan (21 on the right) who is starting his college senior year by departing on a NOLS semester in India. Since both our sons go to Green Mountain College here in VT we are very lucky to see them every two weeks at the most, 4 months seems forever right now...I know this will be an amazing time for him and I am so happy he has this opportunity to explore the world but my mommy feelings are seriously challenged right now and I miss him already.
Daniel (19 on the left) will be starting his sophomore year in college next week and Mikey (17 ) will be a senior in high school this year and starting his college application process, following his grandfather's steps he is applying for Architecture, I can't believe we'll have two graduations next spring!
The hot summer days are starting to cool down here in Vermont, the nights are getting cooler and we even took out our warm down blankets last night, can you believe I spotted a few red leaves!!! I think the foliage will be glorious this year!
I love August in the garden, the veggies are all ripe and ready to be picked, the flowers are a crazy colorful mix of yellows pinks and white, our cat Isabel refuses to come in, she absolutely loves being outside often to be found sunning on the patio table out back.
The front of our house in full bloom, the morning glory loved this hot summer!
Last week we spent 3 glorious days with our visiting family at our dear friends beautiful lake home,
