Spring is in the air

Spring is in the air and my new designs are very inspired by all the dreamy colors surrounding me.
I just finished listing lots and lots of new stuff to my Etsy shop and will be listing them in my website this weekend, here are a few new samples.
Starting with the brighter summer colors, a new flower necklace on our wallpapered closet

and my new tunic (swoon...cant wait to wear it, still too cold around here...) with a few of the long Charm Chain Necklaces:

I also posted a new Charm Bracelet available in both women and children sizes

and a few pairs of new earrings, dreamy colors with little bird dangles

Also many new Bobby pin hair sets made with these lovely handmade durable paper roses I managed to put my hands on...they are amazing!

New work

Hello my lovelies, this was meant to be a giant post with loads of new photos, but our computer crashed!! so while it's being fixed here is a sneak peek of what's to come:

Organic gardening

First of all let me start with this photo to remind you what the garden looks like starting mid may (this photo was taking last year right before a big garden party we had):

OK, now I can start my post...
We have been working this whole last week on putting in a 100% organic vegetable garden. We already had one bed on the far side of the lawn that we put in 2 years ago and was doing very well:

so we decided to go for it and get serious! we cleared a very bushy southern facing plot in the back of the garden, here it is after it's been cleared, it was a wild blackberry patch that is very invasive and got completely out of hand...took two days to just clear!

then we marked the borders of the patch and cleared away roots, and grass (that's my son Jonathan hard at work and Nana our dog enjoying the cool earth)

both Jonathan and Mikey helped out! I am a proud mama!

We figured out we can fit in six 12ftX4ft (4mX1.20m) raised beds, I know that's a lot, maybe too much to start but one whole bed will have corn and one whole bed will have strawberries, so that leaves 4 beds I think it will work for a family of 5.
Ronen started building the beds on the deck and moved them one by one to the marked area, I must admit I didn't do very much of the hard labor, I basically stood around telling everyone what to do and taking photos....I know..I can be sooo annoying...

 
 this is what it looks like from the kitchen window, I am delighted to be able to look right at it when I'm cooking!

and that's me starting to sow the early veggies , I put in a whole bed of lettuce, some leek, and some beets (that tree in the middle will probably need to move soon):

so...it's all very exciting, hopefully it will work, we've been dreaming about this for sooo long!

Montreal

We had a great time in Montreal, we spent a couple of days there celebrating our 20th. What a lovely city and it's only 2 hours away, we've been there many times before but this time was special and we discovered a few new things, like the great museums and the wonderful Jean Talon market, I think this was the first time we've been there with out going to Ikea... 
This is the view from the 29th floor of our hotel room at 6am, I was awaken by the most amazing light:

We made a decision to try and spend more time there and we are taking the boys next week, also ate in some awesome restaurants thank to this amazing blog
The smoked meet sandwich at "Schwartz"'s was the best we ever tasted, yum!

We also discovered  a wonderful authentic Vietnamese restaurant called "Houng-Que" I linked it to a great review in another wonderful food blog, it's way up by the Jean Talon market, fantastic!

p.s  how do you like my new profile photo taken yesterday in Montreal? I just cut my bangs myself a few weeks ago, not sure if it works or not..

20th wedding anniversary

Tomorrow is our 20th wedding anniversary, we were married on April 15th 1989. Everything about that day is blurry, if not for the photos I don't think I would have remembered a thing, I do however remember my feelings , like how excited I was, how I couldn't believe this was actually happening and how my cheeks hurt for 2 days later from smiling so much...
He still had his blond curls, I was soooo much thinner...but here we are 20 years later still loving each others company, still spending 24 hours together and staying alive, still enjoying our life journey and dreaming of our next big adventure and more then all  seeing our children grow into amazing young men.
So here's to you my sweetie and another endless years together!

New Cotton Pouches

I finally sat down to do some sewing these last few days, remember the lovely fabrics from this post? I got so caught up in making jewelry that I totally neglected making some new sewn items, so here they are:

Tomorrow is passover and we are hosting the Seder this year, we have 17 guests!! this is the menu :Matzo ball soup, stuffed chickens, mashed potatoes with leek, brisket, string beans, salads and a flour less chocolate cake with raspberry mouse (not all made by me).

All gone

Thank you for the amazing response to my new Jewelry line, they are ALL gone, wow! it was amazing and I am working on some new pieces this weekend so stay tuned.

Every now and then

Every now and then I am hit by this uncontrollable urge to make some thing a little different, it happened to me a few days ago, I was looking at a few of my latest designs and as much as I am a real lover of everything vintage and romantic I suddenly felt I needed more color, more drama, something bolder and more of a statement, I was also going through my bead collection looking for something or other and thought to myself I need to use these!  I've been collecting beads from all over the world for years and years, it's time!
So here are the results of this mini collection that might grow I hope, they are all One-Of-A-Kind and made with a very eclectic mix of beads, colors and shapes.
This one is called Bead & Rose Necklace (SOLD) and is a little glitzy:
