I guess it was to good to be true, unfortunately my designs ended up NOT being on the show today, needless to say to the great disappointment of my family, friends and myself who were glued to the show for hours waiting ....
What can I say? life goes on.

As you can probably tell I am very excited about Thursday, I just hope it won't be a big disappointment...I try not to think about to much, but it keeps popping into my head...it's hard getting prepared because what if? what if they don't show it? what if it's on for a brief moment with no credit? what if I blink and it's gone? I know I am very boring...sorry.
To keep my mind off things I am thinking ahead and created a few new Note card sets for my Esty shop, especially ones for the holidays .
The first one is of an image I took from a vintage little porcelain creamer my aunt Susan gave me, I am in love with these flowers and colors:
the back says one word JOY , I like it short and simple and a great holiday word.
The second new note card set is of an image I took of some of my Mini Fairy Ornaments

When I work I try not to throw anyhting away, I keep tiny little scraps of fabric, old buttons from lost shirts, small bits of paper with an interesting print, magazine cutouts with something that catches my eye, tiny pieces of tulle and tiny silk roses,I tell myself that one day I will end up using all these little bits and scraps for somthing or other.
When I started making these hair sets I was so so happy I kept all these bits and pieces! Spending a small fortune on expensive but irresistible European corduroy and velvet printed fabrics I used for my totes and pouches I can now use those beautiful little scraps for hair sets, so nothing gets thrown out!now how's that for the environment! makes me feel very happy:)
I also used little scraps of my favorite "Liberty Of London" fabric to make "frumpy" flower pins, I only have these 3 left in my shop

I have also been making these Bobby pins, they are brass pins with a tiny beautiful sturdy paper rose, I've been wearing them for a month now to test them out, they are very durable as long as you pull them out of your hair holding the pin part and not the rose, but that's true of any bobby pin I have...
They are so pretty I sold tons of them as birthday favors and they are available in my shop.
I mount them on a rosy Moo card and they come in a little yellow hand stamped box.

Ronen and I woke up this morning to another glorious autumn day, we decided it was much to nice to stay at home, the kids were at school till 4 and we were both free to run away...
We packed a lunch: bagels with homemade goat cheese from our friends farm,VT made cheddar cheese,yesterdays salad and a few local apples we bought on the way.
The music was great (Neil Young and some other folksy and blues tunes ), the weather was absolutely perfect 62F (17c) and the skies were a bluest blue I have ever seen...
First we hiked a little up Camel's hump and had lunch, then we headed out to Warren which is the cutest little town and we love their Country Store, it has great coffee and pastries and a balcony that sits right above a waterfall.
We walked around, went down to Waitsfield (another perfect little town) and took the back country roads home.
It was perfect!

Just added lots of new items to my Esty shop today. The newest addition is a new crown with a shorter tulle length suitable for any age, I called it Royalty Rocks and even made a special Union Jack fabric button to go with it...kinda looks cool on my grandmother's bird lamp don't you think?

I've also added a brand new item to my shop, 3" Fairy Combs that can be worn on top of the head like a little tulle crown or combed back the regular way, they come in many pastel colors and are wrapped in their own recycled hand stamped box for gift giving.
and finally, (can you tell I've been busy...) a new Bird Pendant necklace, I especially adore the beautiful colors of this bird and vintage aqua glass beaded chain, you can get see more details here

I can't believe it, yesterday was Jonathan's 18th birthday, I can still remember everything about being 18, it was a minute ago and a life time ago.
We are watching him grow into an amazing young man, soft spoken and talented, a lover of nature and art, a passionate photographer and a kind, helpful and great big brother!

I spent an hour at the book store today,ever since I decided I will stop buying so many magazines l read them at the store and only buy the ones I really really love. British Vogue is one of them,for many years now it's been my favorite Fashion magazine and the October issue is truly beautiful,not only a few fantastic fashion articles but a great interview with Annie Leibovitz and a super wonderful interview with Cath Kidston! her house is sooo perfect, I simply love the colors and the laid back style of her home. So here are a few photos from the article so you all can enjoy them as much as I did. From the October issue of British Vogue:

It all started one day when I was poking around Etsy, and spotted this amazing colorful yarn here,
I loved it even more when it arrived and the pretty ball of yarn was sitting on the living room table for ages
I couldn't decide what to make, a little girl's sweater? a baby blanket? perhaps a pair of mittens? finally I decided on a hat for moi!
