Good morning, we are back! to those who have not been following my blog, my husband's 50th birthday gift to me was a trip to San Francisco, the two of us, on our own, for the first time in over 10 years! It was an amazing gift since my uncle and aunt live in Berkeley and we stayed at their beautiful guest house and enjoyed their unbelievable garden. We also spent one day touring wineries and visiting Sonoma and two days in San Francisco, what a beautiful city! the perfect balance of a city that does not feel too hectic and is people friendly, when you live in VT for 3 years after spending your whole life in big cities you get very sensitive to these things....
In short, no words can describe how inspiring this trip was, sadly I decided not to take my new camera and thought it will be easier to travel with my little Powershot A520, but I think the results are pretty good.
The guest house is a 1920's house that was lovingly restored with antiques, thrift store finds and fantastic textiles about 7 years ago and now houses my aunts vast collections of textiles and artifacts , she is the author of many books about the subject, here is a link to her books available through Amazon
Lets start with the house:
